First Giveaway

Okay, as I have now got over 50 followers, I am doing my first giveaway.

I am a bit of a history and mythology geek so thought that I could tie the two together.
So to win, all you have to do is leave a comment below to say what Goddess you are and why. It doesn’t matter what culture your Goddess is from, it can be Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Celtic, etc. etc.

And the prize.......

This necklace, taken from my Folksy shop. It is made with purple cats eye beads, and some lovely purple cloisonné beads, great for the summer months.

I will run the giveaway until Friday 16th April, then will announce the winner.

Don’t forget to leave details of how you can be contacted, if not linked to a Folksy shop.

Good luck.

  1. Great giveaway!
If I could be any Goddess I would be 'Angerona'. She was a mythical Roman goddess who was supposed to have 'relieved men from pain and sorrow' hahahaha! :) She was also a protectress of Rome!

  3. What a beautiful necklace!

I've been Persephone since I read the story as a little girl! Not sure if she's actually a goddess though!

You can contact me through folksy too:

  4. I think today it has to be the Norse goddess SOL - who guides the sun through the sky. Today it has been guided to us, it is beautiful!

  5. I tried posting a comment and it disappeared on me, so appologies if I leave two comments.

I think this is a great idea, also gets the old grey cells working. I would probably be Persephone, Queen of the Underworld, which described quite well the state of my home and my off spring! (Well, only joking, the children are really quite nice, can't say the same about the state of my home!)

  13. This is me :) because as a crafter photographer and designer you have to have a good eye

THEIA was the Titan goddess of sight (thea) and shining light of the clear blue sky (aithre). She was also, by extension, the goddess who endowed gold, silver and gems with their brilliance and intrinsic value. Theia married Hyperion, the Titan-god of light, and bore him three bright children--Helios the Sun, Eos the Dawn, and Selene the Moon.

Under the title Ikhnaie, "the tracing goddess," Theia possessed an oracular shrine in the region of Phthiotis in Thessaly. Her sister-Titans were likewise oracular goddesses--Phoibe held Delphoi, Mnemosyne Lebadeia, Dione Dodona, and Themis shared the four.
